Touring caravan tyres do not wear out due to high mileage like car tyres. However, the rubber degrades due to exposure to UV radiation from sunlight and other weather conditions.

For safety purposes, the NCC recommends that tyres are replaced seven years from the date of manufacture at the very latest. When replacing tyres customers should ensure that they are correctly rated for the maximum plated weight of the caravan. You should check pressures before every journey (when the tyre is cold) also look over the rest of the tyre, examining for signs of cracking, any bulges, lumps or cuts, and removing any stones or debris embedded in the tread.
